Deep into the Costa Maya Poca Cosa is located 11 km north of the fishing Village of Xcalak or just north of the southern tip of Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula. Lat 18.37 N + Long 87.79 W

HOW TO GET HERE
5 hours from Cancun, 3 hours from Chetumal or 5 hours from Merida by automobile. Most guests fly to Cancun. There are bus options by ADO, Mayab and Caribe. There is no taxi or combo service in Xcalak.

Hit the Road
Drive South on Highway 307. Cancun to Tulum past Playa del Carmen is 4-lane. Continue on 307 past Tulum to Felipe Carrillo Puerto this portion is three lane. At Felipe Carrillo Puerto Highway 184 from Merida intersects Highway 307. In 45 minutes still driving South on Highway 307 you reach the village of Limones. 2 km south of Limones take the wide left turn at Cafetal heading East to Mahahual, the Mediterranean Sea and the cruise ship port of the Costa Maya. The jungle road to Xcalak is at km 51. This 61 km Carretera Mahahual a Xcalak is paved with some curves and an occasional pot hole and encroaching jungle. Be alert, look for wildlife and enjoy the drive. At the end turn left at the T-Junction where you'll see signs for the Inns of Xcalak. In 2 km you reach Xcalak. Continue through town to the Ocean, turn left (N). Keep the Ocean on your right, pass the town dock and lighthouse. Find your way over the bridge and continue on the sand road 11 km north to Poca Cosa.

Fly to Cancun, Merida or Chetumal
Select your city of entry. Reserve your car before arriving or choose your bus transport to Mahahual. There are buses that also go from Mahahual to Xcalak and there are taxis in Mahahual.
Determine the bus options from your City of Entry all the way to Xcalak or to Mahahual. You'll need a friend or taxi from Mahahual. From Xcalak you'll need a friend (no taxi)
